If you’re an MSP, you’ve heard it before: “We’re all set. We handle our own IT.”

What SMBs are really saying is they don’t trust you. They’re afraid you’re coming in to take over and possibly give existing employees pink slips.

When SMBs express this fear to you, how do you handle it?

Many MSPs are overcoming this common objection by adopting a Hybrid Service Provider model. With this approach, SMBs identify projects, such as email archiving, that internal IT employees don’t have the time or resources to take care of themselves, but that are appropriate for MSPs to tackle.

Some companies are already embracing this hybrid model. For example, legal firms are bringing together MSPs and internal IT resources to work on discovery requests and other projects. Striking a balance between internal and external resources provides companies with cost savings and scalability, ensuring they have the right resources when they need them.
