Small businesses need to be careful when it comes to every dollar they spend. However, the IT channel is filled with solutions that offer a number of benefits.

Mike Pugh, the vice president of marketing at J2 spoke with Bloomberg TV about the results of a recent study on how technology is helping small businesses. Not only are new innovations improving business operations, but standard technology is making it easier than ever for startups to get off the ground. He used the example of deciding to go rogue with the host and start a business that night.

“Ten years ago, we would need to get office space, a phone system, a fax machine a cash register – all the legacy ways of starting a business,” Pugh said. “If you and I wanted to do it tonight, we could go online and get a business phone number and get a fax number and set up a website and do everything we need so that when we got up, we would have a fully functional virtual business.”

He also spoke about the cloud and the study his company conducted. The results found that 80 percent of companies want to move some business solutions into the cloud. By doing this, businesses are able to save money and allow employees to access information remotely.

VARs and MSPs have become reliable resources for small businesses that are looking for a hand when it comes to deploying the latest solutions. Quality solution providers partner with VAR Staffing to identify and recruit the impactful talent that is needed for success.
