This blog has covered the growing need for women in the IT channel. As more companies continue to fight the nuisance of the skills gap, there is no reason for women to be left out in the cold.

There are many within the IT industry who are looking to change that. One of the biggest is Rachel Jones, a Houston technology executive with 20 years of experience. A recent article from American News Report features an interview with Jones, in which she said it is her “personal crusade” to improve the standing of women in technology.

“Before I leave this industry, I want to attract the best and brightest women into the industry,” she says. “The industry needs it. There are many jobs available today and will be in the future. This is a great career for women.”

She went on to say that as the business world continues to embrace technology, knowledge of these solutions will play a major role in employment success. Everything from sales to marketing is now deeply ingrained in systems like the cloud and mobility structures, which require a strong IT department to operate.

“The jobs that are available in this field are more plentiful than people are trained for,” Jones added. “If you have a daughter, guide her to our industry. She won’t regret it.”

The technology landscape is expanding and impactful talent of any sex, race and creed will be needed to manage it successfully. VAR Staffing identifies and recruits the quality professionals that IT solution providers are looking for.
