It is that time of year when ghosts and ghouls roam the street and everyone is a bit on edge and a little more cognizant of the things that go bump in the night. It is Halloween and in the spirit of the season, CIO Magazine took a look at some of the things that keep the IT channel up at night and give technology executives nightmares.

A recent article examined a handful of scenarios that frighten even the most seasoned IT vets. Surprisingly, very few items on the list fall under the IT security umbrella, unlike the list we reported on earlier this month. They range from money and budget concerns, unrealistic implementation deadlines, lapses in certificate or agreements, and the dreaded “password expiration day.”

Another item on the list includes backup corruption and the lack of a disaster recovery plan until it is too late. With the one year anniversary of Hurricane Sandy just passing, this should be on every IT executive’s mind already.

“Crossing your fingers that the instructions you gave your data center manager about disaster prevention procedures made sense…as a hurricane is forming off the coast,” the article read.

This shows that there are countless hurdles that can derail an IT department when they are least expecting it. To combat these nightmarish possibilities, many companies are turning toward VARs and MSPs that answer these challenges quickly. With VAR Staffing as a partner, solution providers are able to acquire the impactful talent they need to get ahead of any and all IT nightmares and bust the ghosts before they cause any mischief.
