There are few services in the IT channel that are poised to have a larger impact on the corporate world than cloud computing. However, many businesses seem to still be behind the times.

In a guest column for the Miami Herald, Jonathan Lieberman – the CEO and co-founder of cloud IT service provider itopia – spoke about the bright outlook for cloud computing. According to Lieberman, the cloud is not a passing IT fad that will go away in the next few years and be replaced with something else. The question of your company adopting the cloud is not a matter of if, but when.

“Just as every business in the world now uses phones and email, it is simply a fact that at some point they will all be using a cloud-based data solution,” Lieberman wrote. “The only difference between them will be how much time, money and resources they wasted on archaic technology before they made the transition.”

He points out that physical servers and personal computers are outdated technology and companies can find themselves hemorrhaging money trying to maintain these systems. This is on top of wasted productivity spent on rebooting and cleaning hard drives and the image that your company is behind the times because it does not use the latest, industry changing technology.

If the corporate world unfolds the way Lieberman believes it will, companies need to implement the cloud now. IT solution providers that are partnered with VAR Staffing offer the impactful talent that is needed to successfully do so.
