IT Principals expect technology growth in coming quarter

Businesses and consumers alike are anticipating the launch of the iPhone 5 on Friday. Before long, these devices will find themselves making their way into offices and IT departments will have more on their plate. With technology becoming a larger part of the corporate world, IT Principals need to be prepared to deal with the growing responsibility of properly integrating all systems.
An IT staffing agency recently released a survey that found CIOs plan a modest increase in IT hiring in the fourth quarter of 2012. The study was compiled following interviews with 1,400 IT Principals from across the country with more than 100 employees.
According to the responses, 9 percent of CIOs are planning on expanding their IT departments in the year's final quarter. While immediate changes seem low, 91 percent of technology executives said that they are at least somewhat optimistic about the growth potential in the next three months.
Aside from bringing in talent, companies are also gearing up to start new technology projects as 44 percent of respondents would be investing in some kind of IT deployment. The report cited networking administration, database management and technical support professionals as the most in demand occupations.
The expected increase in IT related activity means more companies will be looking to find impactful talent. however, they will all be looking in the same pool in the IT channel. According to the study, 54 percent of IT decision-makers said it is a challenge to find technology professionals. VAR Staffing has access to the most impactful talent in the channel.
