Your content and website has to be enticing so real people will actually buy your product. Ask yourself the following questions to see if you’ve optimized your content for maximum results.

Is Your Content Too SEO Optimized?

There is such a thing as too much SEO. If you’ve spent a lot of money on link building, social media, and a good web designer that’s made your website perfect to the T, then you might be over-optimized. Often, content that’s meant to just draw traffic to your site is of somewhat poor quality, especially when it’s full to the brim with keyphrases. To fix this, all you have to do is figure out how to make it sound more natural. Get a good editor – one that will know exactly how to smooth out phrases.

Is Your Content Easy to Understand?

You want content to be smooth, classy, and above all, easy to understand. You need to make sure everything is written in such a way that even someone who just learned to read can do so. Instructions need to be perfectly clear and written out on a step by step basis. The description of your services needs to be clear cut and to the point so people know what they’re buying. Using too many industry terms and large synonyms for small words can make people feel like you’re trying to be “intellectually superior,” which will instantly lose a sale.

Who is Your Site About?

Though your readers may have some interest in who you are and how you do it, they care mostly about your services. If your website isn’t directing them back to your services constantly – in a polite way – then you risk losing sales. All of the SEO traffic on the world won’t save you if you’re not thinking about your customer when you write content and organize a website. You want to connect to your audience, and the best way to do that is to figure out what they want to see. Think about it this way: what do you say to a prospective client when you’re talking to them face to face?
