The jobs market in the IT channel has experienced several major shifts in the last few years. New technology and growing trends are causing businesses to invest in top notch talent to manage the influx of new operations. However, the economy is still volatile and while demand for quality professionals is high, many IT workers feel uncertainty about their current roles.

A recent study from Randstad Technologies found that 46 percent of tech workers are likely to start looking for a new employment opportunity this year. That number is up 5 percent from a similar survey the year before. Despite many professionals looking for a new job, only 38 percent are confident that they will be able to find one, which is a 4 percent decline from last year.

Change is a good thing…and inevitable

Article By Stuart Selbst

If you follow me on my personal Facebook page, you may have seen I posted that Loree is changing jobs. Loree has been at her current job for over 9 years and making a job change after all the time is difficult for many people, including Loree. The decision for her to make this move was not easy for her. Just the interview process for this job took over 3 months. While I was there to “coach” and advise her through the pros and cons of changing jobs, it was ultimately her decision. Personally, I believe that this change is good and will allow Loree to elevate her career and the opportunity that she has in front of her…the sky is the limit. Plus the bump in salary is an added bonus.
