Experts believe cloud security concerns are overblown

It seems as if cloud security will not be going away anytime soon. Yesterday we covered a report that found cloud adoption is on the rise despite the concerns that sprang up as a result of last year’s NSA spying scandal. This led to a discussion about cloud security and how serious the threats actually are.
An article from ComputerWorld recapped a panel from the RSA Security Conference that was held last week. According to the experts, most enterprise workloads and data can be safely transitioned to a cloud environment. On top of that, any lingering questions about how secure this move is should be a thing of the past.
“The horse is largely out of the barn,” John Pescatore, director of research at the SANS Institute, told the news source. “There is no debate about whether we are going to use the cloud.”
Taking this a step further down the security road, Wade Baker, managing principal of research and intelligence at Verizon, said the popular perception that the cloud is unsafe is wrong. He added that there are few examples of enterprise data being compromised because it was involved with a move to the cloud and when that does happen the blame more often than not falls on the business and not the cloud solution provider.
VARs and MSPs that specialize in the cloud are experiencing more demand than ever before. By partnering with VAR Staffing, these quality solution providers are able to identify and recruit the impactful talent needed to answer cloud challenges.
