“We’re going to make some history together today.”

Those words were spoken by late Apple CEO Steve Jobs on January 9, 2007 during the Macworld keynote presentation. He was about to forever change the IT channel — and the world — by unveiling the original iPhone for the first time.

He teased the crowd by saying the company was revolutionizing three products — the iPod, the phone and internet communication devices. However, these would not be three separate devices, but rather one that includes functionality of each, in a product we all know now to be the iPhone.

Now that the Apple’s smartphone has turned seven, it is easy to see that Jobs’ words were correct. Since then, the technology landscape has changed dramatically. Mobility has become a standard part of our lives both personal and professional. You would be hard pressed to find a company that does not have smartphones and tablets being used for commercial purposes within its walls.

Bring-your-own-device trends are on the rise and news sources are laying out predictions of how these strategies are going to play a larger role in 2014 than anytime before. Entire industries like mobile security and device management have been created and grown because of the importance of mobility in the corporate realm, which is far more complex than the Average Joe realizes.

Many organizations are relying on the experience of quality VARs and MSPs to bring in the knowledge level needed to successfully deploy the iPhone and other mobile devices. Quality solution providers have partnered with VAR Staffing to identify and recruit the impactful talent that can can turn employees using their iPhones to check email into a fully integrated business solution.
