Hiring in the technology landscape is a challenge, that is no secret. However, there appears to be a boost coming in the new year as more companies will be looking to add quality technology talent.

A recent article from Nextgov recapped a new forecast of the technology hiring landscape. According to interviews with more than 2,300 CIOs from the United States, 83 percent of CIOs plan to hire staff in the first half of 2014. On top of that, 67 percent are only looking to hire for open technology roles. Those numbers have increased when compared to a similar study conducted midway through 2013.

“We continue to see strong demand for IT professionals from across the United States,” one executive told the news source. “Professionals with skills in mobile applications development, data analytics and networking are in especially high demand.”

The study went on to say that many CIOs do not think it will be easy to fill these open technology jobs. In fact, 63 percent of respondents believe it is somewhat or very challenging to identify and recruit skilled IT professionals. However, that number is down from 68 percent which was reported in a forecast of 2013. The most demanding skills for the new year will be networking, security and technical support.

Adding all of these skills can be complicated. VARs and MSPs have grown in demand as a way to answer technology challenges quickly. Solution providers that have partnered with VAR Staffing offer the impactful talent needed to stand out amongst the crowd.
