For technology decision makers, staying on top of trends is crucial if they are to stay competitive. Those that are late to adopt the latest products and services in the IT channel could find themselves scrambling to catch up as new systems start to come out. This is leading organizations to increase their technology budgets and IT employee headcount.

Recently the Society for Information Management released the results of its annual survey of CIOs and other senior IT leaders. It gives a broad look at topics ranging from budgets to salaries to tech and business priorities. More than 4,500 individuals responded and the numbers show increases in all categories are expected.

Looking ahead to 2014, 65 percent of respondents said IT budgets will increase, with an average increase of 1.48 percent. When it comes to staffing, 47 percent of companies are expected to increase headcount by the end of the year, while that number will increase to 55 percent in 2014. However, it was also found that turnover will be on the rise also.

“After stalling for a few years, staff turnover increased among IT pros this year. The rate of turnover hit 6.58 percent, up from 5.23 percent in 2012, 5.51 percent in 2011, and 5.5 percent in 2010,” the report reads.

The importance of technology to today’s business world seems to be growing every day. Because of this, many organizations are partnering with VARs and MSPs to answer challenges. VAR Staffing helps solution providers identify and recruit impactful talent needed for every technology project.
