As this blog has touched on before, the time-honored business practice of supply and demand is playing out in the IT channel when it comes to talent. This is particularly true when organizations look into one of the hottest trends in corporate IT—the cloud.

As the technology landscape continues to be influenced by cloud computing practices, more organizations are seeking professionals who understand the technology and can optimize it for their specific business needs. However, with everyone looking for impactful talent, it becoming hard to actually find it.

CompTIA recently released its 4th Annual Cloud Computing Trends Report, and one of the biggest takeaways is that hiring managers are having the most challenge when it comes to finding professionals with high-level cloud skills, like migration plans or assessing the risk that a company would face during a cloud transition.

According to Carolyn April, CompTIA’s Director of Industry Analysis, this is because the cloud has matured as a technology and the benefits that is brings to the table are known.

“We’re seeing cloud technology move beyond the realm of curiosity, beyond early experimentation, and into a second- or third-stage technology evolution,” April said. “Up until this year, we’d seen a gradual increase in adoption and acceptance, but this year we saw a huge spike in adoption, and that’s a game-changer for business.”

Because of low supply, many organizations are turning toward VARs and and MSPs with knowledge of the cloud for support. VAR Staffing helps solution providers find the impactful talent they need to become the partner of choice with this new technology.
