The IT skills gap has been laying roadblocks for technology executives these last few years. The latest innovations are coming quicker than IT professionals can learn how to properly incorporate them and many businesses find themselves seeking alternative options, like a qualified solution provider. Unfortunately, these VARs and MSPs are not immune to the challenges of IT staffing in the current landscape.

According to a recent ChannelNomics article, if you ask any company in the IT channel what its biggest hurdles are to success, the answer is always IT staffing.

"It's paradoxical, but in a nation bemoaning a sluggish economy and persistently high unemployment, IT employees are still at a premium and are naming their own prices in the jobs market," the article read. "That's hurting partners that consistently see their ability to expand operation and take on new clients stifled by their inability to retain sufficient IT staffing."

The biggest issue here is that every business seems to be getting on the IT bandwagon. From tech-focused VARs and MSPs to small mom-and-pop retailers, companies of all sizes can run more efficiently with the help of the latest technology and innovations.

The piece also cited a survey of 2,300 CIOs from 23 major U.S. cities. The results found that 35 percent of respondents are planning on hiring new IT graduates this year to try and close the skills gap.

One step solution providers should consider taking is partnering with an experienced IT staffing agency like VAR Staffing. It is the most effective way to find the impactful talent that companies desire.
