Traditionally, the use of IT outsourcing has been a way for businesses to save money. By partnering with a VAR or MSP that specializes in a particular technology, companies have been able to save time and money by more easily managing a new service or system. However, that has changed in recent years as IT Principals are looking for ways to effectively adopt the latest technology that can scale to demand and provide agility required to meet real-time business challenges.
According to a recent study from Bluewolf – a global business consulting firm – not only is this shift in outsourcing happening, but the overall trend of seeking outside help is on the rise.
"The speed with which a business leverages new technologies plays a huge role in the company's success, and that speed often depends on people," Michael Kirven, co-founder of Bluewolf, told Baseline Magazine. "CIOs are embracing the elastic workforce to gain access not only to more talent, but also to a specialized pool of workers at the top of their game who offer an outsider's perspective."
The study, which featured more than 200 IT decision-makers, found that 32 percent of respondents said they plan on increasing IT outsourcing in the next 12 to 18 months. On top of that, 48 percent believe that they will be hiring more contractors rather than full-time staff.
The report found that several different innovations were cited as the reason for increased outsourcing. These included mobile application assistance, infrastructure services, cloud data management, data center operations and disaster planning.
As more companies turn to solution providers to increase their level of success, these VARs and MSPs need to make sure they have the impactful talent available to become the first choice. With the help of VAR Staffing, any company can stand out above the competition.
