Cloud computing has been touted as a potential game-changer for the last few years. However, many companies were reserved about adopting it early on and had the misconception that only larger enterprises could benefit from the service created. That is all changing as the technology is finally living up to the hype and IT Principals need to be ready.

According to a recent Gartner study, the global market for cloud computing will grow at a compounded annual rate of 28 percent through 2015. On top of that, investing in the service will create 12 million jobs worldwide and IT innovation based around the cloud will generate $1.1 trillion a year over that same time frame.

The report also found that small and midsize businesses (SMBs) are going to play a major role pushing cloud technology to the next level. SMBs are the backbone of the economy and if they embrace a new service or platform it compounds the importance to current business practices.

This point was also made by David Linthicum in a recent InfoWorld article. In the piece, he stressed how companies that have smaller IT budgets can benefit more than their larger enterprise counterparts and organizations like state and local governments are moving into the cloud faster than most Global 2000 enterprises.

"The reasons cited for not moving to cloud computing include the lack of clarity around the use of cloud-based technology, in most cases it's simply the fear of something new and the risks around migration," wrote Linthicum.

An easy way to get past these concerns is with the help of a reliable solution provider that fully understands cloud computing. VARs and MSPs that have partnered with VAR Staffing can deploy the impactful talent that companies need to successfully implement the latest innovation.
