Intel Atom Processor-Based Storage Platform to Power Personal Cloud for SMBs
According to a 2012 report by the Aberdeen Group, SMB storage volumes are increasing by 30 percent annually. Meanwhile, Gartner predicts that the average household will require at least 3.3 terabytes of storage capacity to hold their content by 2016, compared with 464 gigabytes in 2011. That’s a sevenfold increase.
In order to help address these issues, and to help SMBs better organizer, protect and share their data, Intel Corporation announced during a press briefing this morning its its next-generation Intel Atom processor-based storage solution (formerly codenamed “Milstead”).
