IT Principals continue to deal with resourcing puzzle

According to the latest hiring numbers from the Department of Labor, July saw 163,000 jobs added to the U.S. economy, the most in five months. While the numbers are exciting news for many businesses, hiring is still slow as enterprises struggle to find impactful talent to fill their needs.
A recent article from Yahoo looks at another report from the Labor Department on job openings. Work availability reached a four-year high in June with 3.76 million opportunities – the highest since July 2008 – according to the monthly "Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey."
The availability of jobs, however, doesn't necessarily reflect the willingness of enterprises to hire. Economic uncertainty and the technology skill gap have enterprises being more careful with their money and resources.
The president of a Rhode Island manufacturing company, Steve Fielding, reinforced the skill gap problem when he was interviewed by the Associated Press for an article looking at the issue.
"There's a huge gap in basically what’s out there for supply versus the skill sets that we need," said Fielding.
